Paulina Vazquez, M.Sc., RSLP
  • Registered SLP & Owner

    I'm a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Master of Science from the University of British Columbia. I love supporting bilingual families and I am fluent in both Spanish and English. I incorporate play, books, songs, and movement into my sessions to keep things fun and engaging. When I'm not at the clinic, I'm spending time with my husband, David, and our two daughters, Ruby and Leni. I'm an avid reader and recently got into bouldering!

    I am registered in British Columbia (CHCPBC) and Alberta (ACSLPA). I'm also a Registered Autism Service Provider (RASP) for autistic children under age 6 in BC. I have completed additional training to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), which enables me to participate in multidisciplinary assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am also listed on the Apraxia Kids directory for SLPs, indicating additional focus in my practice supporting individuals with Childhood Apraxia of Speech.

I'm committed to neurodiversity-affirming practices. Outside of work, you'll find me skiing, biking, hiking, or camping! I am registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

    I'm a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Master of Science from the University of Alberta. I have a wide range of experience from early language development to swallowing. I love getting to know kids and their families and strive to keep learning so I can provide fun and evidence-based service. I spend a lot of time being creative whether it’s sewing, knitting, drawing or playing piano. I am registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) and certified by Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC).

    I'm a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Master of Science from the University of Alberta. My experience is broad, including many facets of speech and language such as Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), early language development and a variety of speech sound and motor speech differences. It is important to me to keep my speech therapy sessions child-led, fun, and dynamic for my pediatric clients, and I love having the client and their family involved when choosing goals to work on.

    Outside of being an SLP, I enjoy reading, being active, and hanging out with my friends and family, including my two little boys. I am registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) and certified by Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC).

    Assessment & Consultation

    I am a Registered Psychologist with over 30 years of experience as an educator and consultant in the public school system. With a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and a Master of Education in School and Applied Psychology from the University of Calgary, I specialize in comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for children, youth, and adults. My main areas of focus include learning and developmental difficulties, social/emotional/behavioral challenges, giftedness, and ADHD.

    I believe that assessment is a valuable tool for understanding individual strengths and challenges. Combining assessment results with evidence-based, practical recommendations and strategies can help to support learning, development and overall success.  I also have additional training in trauma-informed and resilience-based  practices and the assessment of Autism. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, exploring the outdoors and traveling.

Occupational Therapy

Counselling

  • I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with experience working with children, youth and families across age groups and presenting concerns. I hold a Bachelor of Education as well as a Masters Degree in Counselling, having previously worked as a teacher and school counsellor. Clients will experience a safe, supportive space to explore their feelings, build skills, and strengthen their relationships with self and others. Through integrated, developmentally appropriate therapeutic approaches, we work together as client and counsellor to foster positive growth and resilience.

    I have worked as an OT since 2012, supporting young children within various community settings in the Edmonton area. I love art, crafting, being outside, and spending time with her family. I am passionate about bringing my creativity and playful spirit into my work, and building on a child's strengths to facilitate change and growth.

  • Registered Occupational Therapist

    I have worked as a pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) since I graduated from the University of Alberta in 2017. I love making therapy fun, and enabling families to feel comfortable and confident supporting their child.

    Outside of work, I enjoy reading, crafting, cooking, and spending time with my family.

  • I am a Canadian Certified Counselling Therapist (CCC) holding a Master of Applied Psychology from Athabasca University. I bring diverse experience in mental health, substance use recovery, and supportive counselling for individuals, couples, and families.

    With a particular passion for working with neurodiverse and special needs populations, I spent nearly a decade as a special education teacher and Life Skills program coordinator. In that role, I designed and implemented individualized education and transition plans, supported students with high- and low-incidence disabilities, and created safe, inclusive environments that fostered social, emotional, and life skills growth.

    This foundational experience deeply informs my counselling practice, where I use compassionate, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive approaches to help clients of all ages build resilience and achieve their goals.

    I am thrilled to be part of the team at Ruby Therapy, offering in-person and virtual sessions in Alberta. I welcome the opportunity to support you on your path to greater well-being.

  • Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

    I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) with a BA in Sociology from the University of Winnipeg and over 25 years of experience in the Manitoba education system. I love planning game-based therapy sessions that engage kids and families. I work closely with SLPs to help clients achieve their goals. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, hiking, going to movies with my family, watching my boys curl, volunteering, and exploring Edmonton. I am certified with the Therapy Assistant Association of Alberta (ThAAA).

    I’m a Therapy Assistant with a diploma from NorQuest College. I have training in Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Recreation Therapy. I’m passionate about creating fun, meaningful, and supportive therapy experiences that help clients and their families reach their goals.

    Outside of work, I love exploring the Edmonton river valley, going for brunch, and spending time with my cat, George. I’m excited to get to know you and be part of your therapy journey!
